Twitter, Facebook, Blogger, Website!!!! Overload!!
So Dance Ahead has gone a little cyber crazy the last few weeks and is now accessible on Facebook, Twitter our website and, of course on the Blog.
I have to admit - Updating all is pretty hard with delivering work too and I am pretty slow off the mark where that is concerned!
I will try my best to update all as often as possible but there is some exciting news on the horizon.
The summer break from my work at the University of Cumbria has allowed me to put into place the groundwork for expanding Dance Ahead's Youth Provision. I am in the process of creating a boys youth dance group for guys aged 14 - 18 years.
The aim of the group is to involve boys in dance through highly energetic, physical performance that will (in the long term) be choreographed by exciting choreographers from across the UK and performed at unconventional (and conventional) venues across the region.
I am seeking support and funding as I as wish to keep costs for members to an absolute minimum. This is about increasing access to dance for boys - NOT a money spinner dance class!
We are currently working on a Promotional Video, Live Duet and Flyers to Launch the group in September....
WATCH THIS SPACE.
In the meantime I ask you to help by telling everyone who you think may be interested in a group like this to Like us on Facebook - follow us on Twitter - follow the Blog and keep the news flowing.
Many Thanks for your continued support and interest in our work.
Peace
Zoe

Bricks of Flesh Mortar of Noise
This video shows a rehearsal from a new contemporary dance work from Zoë Gadd (Dance Ahead) and Andrea Masala. The video is taken from stage 1 of our Research and Development stage. More information suports the video on You Tube.
The piece takes inspiration from two individuals living next door to one another. They are strangers, yet involuntarily connected by the wall that they share, by the noises that pass through this wall into their own private space. How do they react, respond to these noises emotionally and physically? What happens when they actually meet? We ask what do we hide, what do we give and more importantly, why?
Stay posted for future details of forthcoming performances...
